About the role

RDL Scientific is recruiting experienced Registered Nurses to join its Clinical Research Bank Team, supporting healthy volunteers and patients participating in clinical trials.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a specialist early-phase clinical research environment where participant safety, high-quality clinical care and accurate study delivery are paramount.

Shift pattern

Applicants must be available to work a minimum of eight weekday shifts (Monday to Friday) per month. Once initial training has been completed, there may also be opportunities to work outside standard hours.

Initial induction and competency training will take place on weekday shifts from 07:30 to 15:30.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor participants throughout clinical trials.
  • Record observations and vital signs using patient monitoring equipment.
  • Perform 12-lead ECGs.
  • Collect blood samples by venepuncture.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
  • Promote participant safety, comfort and wellbeing throughout each study.
  • Work closely with physicians, technicians and the wider multidisciplinary research team.
  • Work in accordance with study protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Essential requirements

  • Current NMC registration.
  • A minimum of 12 months’ clinical research experience, clearly evidenced in your CV.
  • Experience using patient monitoring equipment.
  • Experience recording 12-lead ECGs.
  • Experience collecting blood samples by venepuncture.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • Current BLS, ILS or ALS certification.
  • Experience in early-phase clinical trials.
  • Competency in cannulation.
