Location: High Wycombe

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £27,751.12 - £29,942.50 per annum

About the Role

As a Complex Needs Practitioner (Recovery Worker), you will support individuals affected by substance misuse through person-centred interventions that empower them to reduce risk, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes. Working across community settings and multi-agency partnerships, you will provide tailored support to people referred through health, social care, and community pathways. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality psychosocial interventions within the One Recovery Buckinghamshire (ORB) service.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a caseload of individuals with complex needs related to substance misuse.
  • Build positive relationships with service users and their families.
  • Complete assessments, care plans, psychosocial interventions, and aftercare support.
  • Develop personalised, outcome-focused support plans based on individual strengths and goals.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks, including safeguarding concerns.
  • Coordinate support with partner agencies to ensure timely and effective interventions.
  • Advocate for service users to access health, social care, housing, and other community services.
  • Promote recovery, independence, wellbeing, and harm reduction.
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
  • Participate in clinical case discussions and multi-agency meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • Understanding of drug, alcohol, and wider health-related issues.
  • Experience working with adults in addiction services, housing, social care, mental health, or related settings.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with individuals facing complex challenges.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and case management skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and person-centred support approaches.
  • Commitment to helping people achieve positive, holistic outcomes and sustained recovery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams.
  • Passion for empowering people to make positive changes in their lives.
