Job summary
Vertis Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate clinician to join our growing Children and Young Peoples Neurodevelopmental Service. We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Paediatric Nurse, Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Independent Nurse Prescriber with experience in neurodevelopmental, paediatric, CAMHS, learning disability or related services.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for children and young people, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team. Whether your expertise lies in ADHD, ASD, or both pathways, we welcome applications from clinicians who are passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.
Main duties of the job
As a CYP ADHD/ASD Assessor, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, evidence-based and neurodiversity-affirming assessment pathways.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking comprehensive developmental histories with children, young people, parents and carers.
- Reviewing information from multiple sources, including families, schools and previous clinical records.
- Delivering ADHD and/or ASD assessment activity in line with NICE guidance and service protocols.
- Contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions and clinical decision-making.
- Identifying co-occurring mental health, neurodevelopmental, learning, physical health and safeguarding concerns.
- Producing high-quality clinical documentation, reports and outcome letters.
- Communicating assessment outcomes sensitively and professionally.
- Participating in clinical supervision, audit, quality improvement and service development activities.
For clinicians with Independent Prescribing qualifications, there may be opportunities to support ADHD medication pathways, including physical health monitoring, medication reviews and prescribing activity as services develop.
About us
Vertis Health is a federation of general practices delivering high-quality NHS services across Worcestershire. We were founded by local primary care clinicians and are owned by the practices we serve. As a purpose-led limited company, the money we generate is reinvested into the local healthcare economy, helping to strengthen services, support innovation and improve patient care.
Our neurodevelopmental services are being built around clinical quality, meaningful outcomes and strong governance. You will join an organisation that understands NHS systems and values while giving experienced clinicians the opportunity to influence, develop and improve services.
Depending on the role, our benefits include access to the NHS Pension, structured learning and development, clinical leadership opportunities, career progression and genuine flexibility.
If you want to help build a clinically rigorous, compassionate and sustainable service, we would be pleased to hear from you.

- Deliver ADHD and/or ASD assessments for children and young people.
- Gather and interpret developmental, educational and clinical information.
- Contribute to diagnostic formulation and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Support neurodevelopmental pathways that are accessible, equitable and person-centred.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
- Work within professional standards, governance requirements and safeguarding frameworks.
- Support service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, GPs and healthcare professionals.
