But being this good doesn't just happen. It takes passion, hard work, and people who share our values. That's where you come in.

We're looking for a driven Transport Controller / Operations Controller to join our team on a permanent basis. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving, and know how to keep transport operations running smoothly while putting customers first, you'll fit right in.

About the Role

As a Transport Controller / Courier Controller, you'll be at the heart of our service centre, managing real-time transport operations and ensuring every same-day delivery runs like clockwork. You'll coordinate drivers, monitor fleet performance, support customers, and play a key role in delivering exceptional service across our courier network.

This role would suit someone with experience as a Transport Controller, Transport Planner, Logistics Coordinator, Logistics Controller, Dispatcher, Despatch Controller, Fleet Controller, Courier Controller, or Operations Controller within a transport, logistics, courier, parcel delivery, distribution, or same-day delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Planning & Work Allocation

  • Manage resource planning and fleet utilisation to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate same-day, express, and time-critical deliveries.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Take bookings and advise customers on the most suitable transport and courier solutions.
  • Provide proactive updates from collection through to proof of delivery (POD).
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships and exceed service expectations.

Real-Time Logistics Coordination

  • Monitor and track deliveries using transport management and vehicle tracking systems.
  • Prioritise premium and time-sensitive deliveries.
  • Manage route changes, delays, and operational challenges quickly and effectively.

Fleet & Driver Management

  • Support and communicate with drivers throughout the day.
  • Ensure appropriate fleet levels are maintained to meet customer demand.
  • Assist with driver recruitment and onboarding where required.
  • Monitor driver performance and service standards.

Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transport operations and customer service.
  • Support the smooth running of logistics operations during peak periods.
  • Manage resource planning and fleet utilisation to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate same-day, express, and time-critical deliveries.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Transport Controller, Transport Planner, Logistics Coordinator, Dispatcher, Courier Controller, Fleet Controller, Despatch Controller, or similar transport and logistics role.
  • Experience within the courier, same-day delivery, transport, logistics, parcel delivery, or distribution sector.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of London and the UK road network.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer literate with experience using transport, logistics, dispatch, or fleet management systems.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.

Why Join Us?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Controller, Logistics Coordinator or Despatch Controller looking to take ownership of real-time operations within a growing same-day courier business. You'll play a key role in fleet planning, driver management, customer service and service delivery while developing your career within a fast-growing logistics company.
