Wanted: Senior Barista

Who are we:

We aren’t your average coffee spot. We’re an independent, speciality coffee shop with a fun vibe, an incredible local following, and a passion for flawless extraction, latte art, and the hub of the community. We are looking for an experienced Senior Barista to set the standard, consistently deliver excellent coffees, and help lead the floor.

The ideal candidate will be a responsible person with excellent barista skills, a passion for coffee and the personality to match. A strong candidate will be familiar with a wide variety of beverages too and have the ability to make beverages quickly, accurately and efficiently. He or she will have a strong barista background, knowledge of food safety, experience in customer service and an eagerness to work hard in a fast-paced environment.

What you bring:

• 2+ years behind the bar, with latte art that makes people reach for their phones.
• Confident dialling in grinders, nail your microfoam, and consistently deliver perfectly executed speciality coffees.
• Someone who actually cares when the espresso isn't quite right.
• Support and mentor junior team members, ensuring service runs smoothly and energetic standards remain high.
• Create a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere that keeps the locals coming back.
• Maintain our equipment, troubleshoot on the fly, and ensure every cup that leaves the bar is picture-perfect.
• Think on your feet, be friendly, proactive and show initiative.
• Coffee obsessed! (Obviously)

Responsibilities:

• Consistently make perfectly executed speciality coffees.
• Be an attentive and friendly face around the coffee shop.
• Get to know our regulars and what they drink.
• Be confident on our POS systems for a fast efficient service.
• Make the coffee shop feel like a second home for our customers.
• Keep the workplace clean and safe and in compliance with health regulations.
• Be consistent and reliable.
• Help create new recipes and drink customisations.
• Clean the espresso machine & grinders and keep all equipment in top condition.

We use a la marzocco linea PB ABR, we extract our espresso to a fine tuned recipe every shot using Mahlkonig E65S GBW. We also offer batch brew with a variety of great coffees from various roasters. We strive to produce the highest standard of coffee using quality products and equipment.
