We're looking for a Kitchen Supervisor who thrives in a busy, fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in delivering fresh, seasonal food to a consistently high standard. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, support and motivate a small team, and ensure smooth, efficient service. You'll play an important role in maintaining quality, developing the food offering and creating a positive, organised kitchen environment.

What you'll do:

• Supervise and support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient operations throughout service.
• Lead, motivate and support the kitchen team, helping to create a positive and productive working environment.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of consistently high-quality brunch, lunch and small plates during busy service periods.
• Ensure food quality, presentation, portion control and consistency are maintained at all times.
• Support menu development and seasonal specials, contributing creative ideas and helping to evolve the café's food offering.
• Organise kitchen prep, delegate tasks and manage workloads to ensure the team is prepared for busy service periods.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering and help minimise food waste through effective stock rotation and portion control.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and kitchen health and safety are consistently maintained.
• Work closely with the wider management and front-of-house teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Lead by example, remaining hands-on during service and supporting the team wherever needed.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or senior position within a busy cafeteria, or similar environment.
• A confident and approachable leader who can motivate, support and get the best out of a team.
• A hands-on approach, with the ability to lead from the front and get stuck in during busy service.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities, delegate tasks and maintain an efficient kitchen workflow.
• A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and beautifully presented food.
• An interest in menu development, seasonal produce and continuously improving the food offering.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining high standards and leading the team effectively.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, food safety and kitchen health and safety requirements.
• A proactive attitude, with the confidence to take responsibility, solve problems and make decisions during service.

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
