Job Summary/Job Purpose:

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer focused Front of house general assistant to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere whilst ensuring the smooth day to day front of house operations.

· Greet all visitors, patients and their families with warmth, kindness and respect.

· Prepare beverages in line with hygiene standards.

· Take orders and handle payments accurately.

· Maintain a clean, calm and comfortable café environment.

· Be attentive to the needs of patients and staff offering support where appropriate.

· Handle customer queries or concerns with empathy and discretion.

· Replenish stock and assist with basic food preparation if required.

· Follow all health safety, food hygiene and infection control procedures.

· Support the wider hospice team and contribute to a positive atmosphere.

· Assist with opening and closing duties.

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in a sensitive environment
  • Good organisation skills and attention to cleanliness
  • Basic food and allergy knowledge (training is provided)
