The Role

Coffee Nexus -

This is a hands-on role working across production quality control, green coffee assessment, sample evaluation, and product development. You will run weekly production cuppings, verify roast colour and curves, assess incoming green deliveries, evaluate purchase samples, and support new product development. Day-to-day, that means measuring and verifying roast colour for every production batch, cupping against reference profiles, and liaising with the roasting team. For green coffee, you will assess incoming deliveries for moisture, water activity, and density, archive retained samples for traceability, and cup purchase samples to support buying decisions. Product development work includes roasting development samples, building filter and espresso recipes for new coffees, and supporting seasonal blend adjustments

About You :

You have a well-developed sensory palate and sound technical knowledge of specialty coffee. You are comfortable working independently, in a small team, maintaining accurate records. You are well organised and can maintain lab equipment in good working order. Experience with green coffee analytical tools and the Cropster system is an advantage, not a requirement. Your experience may instead be with sensory in other food or beverage manufacturing. Qualifications in SCA CSP sensory, green and roasting modules along with Q Grader certification may support your application.
