Barista / All Rounder

Employment: Full-time / Part-time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Barista / All Rounder to join our team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has a strong background in specialty coffee and is equally confident working in a busy front-of-house environment. You will be responsible for delivering consistently excellent coffee while also providing friendly, professional table service and helping across the café when required.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, take pride in presentation and quality, and enjoy working as part of a fast-paced team.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Bar

  • Preparing high-quality specialty coffee to a consistently high standard.
  • Excellent knowledge of espresso-based drinks, including espresso, flat whites, cappuccinos, lattes and americanos.
  • Dialling in coffee and adjusting grind settings throughout service.
  • Correctly steaming and texturing milk and producing good-quality drinks.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation and hygiene at the coffee station.
  • Preparing other drinks including teas, soft drinks and juices.
  • Supporting the bar team with preparation and service during busy periods.

Front of House

  • Welcoming guests and providing friendly, professional service.
  • Seating guests and helping them settle into the café.
  • Taking food and drink orders at the till when required.
  • Running food and drinks to tables efficiently.
  • Clearing and resetting tables throughout service.
  • Answering guest questions about the menu and making recommendations.
  • Ensuring guests receive a warm and professional experience from arrival to departure.

All Rounder Duties

  • Supporting colleagues across the café during busy services.
  • Helping with food and drink preparation when required.
  • Restocking the bar, coffee station and front-of-house areas.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the café.
  • Following food safety, hygiene and company procedures.
  • Working efficiently as part of a team to maintain smooth service.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Solid professional experience as a Barista, ideally in a specialty coffee environment.
  • Good knowledge of specialty coffee and espresso preparation.
  • Confidence dialling in coffee and working with a commercial espresso machine.
  • Strong milk-steaming and latte art skills.
  • Previous front-of-house / table service experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and organised during busy services.
  • A positive, friendly and professional attitude.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
  • The flexibility to work across different areas of the café as an all rounder.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.

The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit an experienced barista who doesn’t want to be limited to the coffee machine and enjoys the interaction and variety of working in a busy café environment.
