Front of House Supervisor

Are you ready to become part of an iconic, multi-award-winning family business, where we believe in good coffee, done right, and putting people at the heart of everything we do?

We currently have a vacancy at the Lawn Coffee and Kitchen as a Front of House Supervisor. The successful candidate will become part of a fantastic team, helping to ensure we consistently deliver exceptional coffee, delicious food, and warm, welcoming hospitality.

Who We Are

Stokes Coffee & Tea has over 120 years of passion and know-how in sourcing, roasting and blending its tea and coffee, supplying businesses locally and across the UK with exceptional quality. We operate three destination cafés across Lincolnshire. Each café offers a unique ambience, fresh, quality produce and of course the best coffee, which we roast on site, at The Lawn. Alongside this, our sister companies, The Blue Room and Charlotte House Hotel, offer beautiful event spaces to suit every visitor and occasion, so there are plenty of career opportunities to explore.

At Stokes we are passionate about our people, customers and communities and are constantly evolving to meet the challenges of a changing world, ethically, sustainably and responsibly. We have recently become a BCorp Certified business, verified as meeting standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

We want to partner and grow with our team members by offering a supportive work environment that provides better work-life balance, a learning culture to enhance skills, share knowledge and develop your career, as well as offer fair reward. Our management and barista pathways are open to all team members who consistently demonstrate Stokes’s values and behaviours.

We hope you'll join us on the next exciting chapter in our journey and become part of the family.

What You’ll Be Doing

Our Customers and Teams are at the heart of everything we do. You will help ensure we deliver good coffee, done right, alongside the superb British hospitality that Stokes is synonymous with. You will be a natural problem solver and communicator and able to share knowledge to embed our high, precise standards across the team, but always remembering the need to do this in a positive and fun way. You will be fully comfortable with the responsibilities of being a key holder, opening, closing and cashing up.

What We Are Looking For

You will be a confident, enthusiastic and customer-focused individual who is eager to develop supervisory experience and to potentially join our management pathway. Your experience of fast-paced hospitality environments, coupled with a naturally calm, positive and friendly demeanour, makes you an amazing team leader that is always ready to help and reprioritise to ensure the team feels supported and the customer experience is never compromised. Barista skills will be a bonus, but training at our Barista Training Academy is part of our induction programmes.

Essential Requirements

  • Hospitality supervisory experience, including table-service (at least one year)
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • A driven and proactive team player
  • Ability to work calmly, confidently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Common-sense and ability to prioritise
  • Flexibility required across the week with regular weekend working and some limited evening shifts for events
  • To apply you must be 18+ and able to work in the UK

What you get

  • Daytime hours
  • Enhanced annual leave entitlement
  • Christmas and Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday Off
  • Discounted food and drinks
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Health and Wellbeing Programme
  • Reward & Recognition Schemes
