Full job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a highly regarded local business, for an experienced Café Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running and continued development of its established café.

This is a hands-on management position for someone who can lead a team, maintain excellent operational standards and deliver a consistently high level of customer service.

Our client is looking for someone who will take genuine ownership of the café, identify opportunities for improvement and help drive the continued growth of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful day-to-day running of the café
  • Lead, motivate and develop the café team
  • Manage recruitment, training, performance and staff wellbeing
  • Produce staff rotas and manage labour efficiently
  • Maintain excellent standards of customer service, cleanliness and presentation
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company procedures
  • Manage stock ordering and stock control while minimising waste
  • Monitor sales, labour costs, gross profit and other performance indicators
  • Manage costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Help develop the café’s retail offering
  • Introduce new products, promotions and seasonal initiatives
  • Support marketing activity and identify opportunities to increase sales
  • Help plan and deliver seasonal events, private functions and promotions
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on performance, staffing and operational matters

About you

We would be interested in speaking with candidates who:

  • Have previous experience managing a café, restaurant or similar hospitality operation
  • Are confident leading, motivating and developing a team
  • Can manage rotas, staffing, stock and costs effectively
  • Understand the commercial aspects of running a hospitality business
  • Are proactive, organised and comfortable taking responsibility
  • Lead by example and maintain consistently high standards
