Combined Medical Services Ltd is expanding, and we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Newly Qualified Paramedics (NQP) to join our growing clinical team.

This is an exciting opportunity for NQP Paramedics to gain valuable experience across our medical event services and wider clinical provision, working within a professional, supportive and clinically focused environment on flexible - freelance basis - zero hours.

The Opportunity

As an NQP Paramedic, you will become an important part of our growing clinical team.

You will have the opportunity to provide clinical care across our medical event provision and other clinical services, gaining experience in different environments while continuing to develop your skills as a newly qualified paramedic.

Our event work provides exposure to a wide range of patient presentations and requires clinicians who can communicate effectively, work well within a team and remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

We want to support NQPs as they establish themselves within the profession and provide opportunities to develop confidence, experience and clinical competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective and compassionate patient assessment and care within your professional scope of practice.
  • Undertake clinical assessments and provide appropriate treatment and management.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a patient's clinical condition.
  • Provide medical cover at a variety of events and locations.
  • Assess and manage a range of patient presentations in accordance with your scope of practice.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and operational team.
  • Provide appropriate clinical handovers to receiving clinicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Operate and maintain ambulance vehicles and clinical equipment to a high standard.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, infection prevention and control.
  • Work in accordance with relevant legislation, professional standards, company policies and clinical governance arrangements.
  • Participate in ongoing learning, CPD and professional development.

Medical Event Provision

Our medical event work provides an excellent opportunity to experience different clinical environments and develop your adaptability as a paramedic.

You may work across a variety of events and settings, providing patient assessment, treatment and appropriate clinical care as part of our event medical teams.

Working alongside experienced clinicians will allow you to develop your communication, teamwork and clinical decision-making skills while gaining valuable real-world experience.

Flexible Working

We understand that NQPs may have a range of commitments and career plans.

We are open to flexible working arrangements, including:

  • Bank contracts
  • Zero-hours contracts
  • Self-employed opportunities, where appropriate

Our services operate across 7 days, with opportunities for 12-hour shifts and additional hours, subject to operational requirements.

This flexibility allows you to work with us alongside other employment, commitments or professional development.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for NQP Paramedics who are:

  • Newly qualified and enthusiastic about developing their paramedic career.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Paramedic, or able to demonstrate eligibility for registration in line with the role requirements.
  • Committed to delivering safe, compassionate and patient-centred care.
  • Professional, reliable and approachable.
  • Confident communicating with patients, relatives, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Flexible and willing to work across different clinical and event environments.
  • Committed to maintaining and developing their clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Interested in gaining varied clinical experience.
  • Keen to contribute to a friendly, professional and supportive team culture.

Safeguarding & Recruitment

Successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Adult and Children DBS check, initiated by the company where an appropriate DBS is not already held.
