Job Summary

The Fox Goes Free, Chichester, West Sussex is seeking a skilled and dynamic Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional homemade, seasonal food and service. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment while honing your professional skills.

Basic salary from £32-34000, based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to motivate team members.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, complying with food safety standards at all times.
  • Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements
