Full job description

Are you passionate about ensuring the voices of children, young people and families shape the services they use? An exciting opportunity has arisen within Herefordshire and Worcestershire CAMHS for a motivated and innovative individual to lead and embed co-production and service user engagement across our service.

Working across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, you will collaborate with children, young people, families, carers, experts by experience, staff and partner agencies to develop meaningful engagement opportunities, identify service improvements and help create services designed with and for those who use them.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to influence service development and make a lasting difference to the experiences of children and young people accessing CAMHS. We offer supervision, training, career development, wellbeing support and flexible working opportunities. The role will involve working across multiple CAMHS sites and teams, with the work base to be discussed at interview.

Applicants must read the attached guidance notes before submitting your application for full understanding of Trust requirements.

No two days are the same in this rewarding role. As our Participation and Engagement Worker, you will:

  • Help ensure the voices of children, young people, parents and carers influence how CAMHS services are designed, developed and improved.
  • Build trusted relationships with service users and families, facilitate participation groups and engagement events, and ensure under-represented voices are heard.
  • Gather and analyse feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and support co-production projects that lead to meaningful change.
  • Develop partnerships with schools, community groups and voluntary organisations, create accessible information and communication resources, and support engagement through digital platforms.
  • Represent the views of children, young people and families at meetings, contribute to service development, coordinate participation activities and maintain records that demonstrate the impact of engagement on service improvement.
At Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, we are working together to deliver outstanding care. We run community hospitals and community health services across Worcestershire and provide mental health and learning disability services across both Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Our people (all 4500+ of them) provide services for people of all ages, experiencing both physical and/or mental health conditions from over 100 sites.

We will support you to thrive; offer flexible working options for a great work-life balance, help you fulfil your ambitions, and empower you to make positive changes within your team or service. We value diversity and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities.

What we offer;

27 days leave plus bank holidays, increasing up to 33 days with long service
Generous NHS pension and enhanced pay when you work unsocial hours
Flexible and agile working opportunities
Great maternity, paternity, and adoption support
Wide range of supportive staff networks
Health and wellbeing opportunities

This is an exciting opportunity to establish and embed a culture of genuine co-production across CAMHS. In the first year, you will focus on listening, building relationships and developing a clear participation framework that enables children, young people, families, carers, stakeholders and staff to influence how services are designed, delivered and improved.

Working collaboratively across CAMHS and with partner organisations, you will help strengthen participation, improve experiences and drive meaningful change.

Longer term, our ambition is to create a service where co-production is embedded in everyday practice, participation is everyone's responsibility, and the views of children, young people, families and carers routinely shape strategic decisions, service improvements and future developments.
