Communications, Engagement & Inclusion Manager

  • Salary: Up to £45,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Location: Nottingham Trams Depot

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, values-driven Communications, Engagement & Inclusion Manager to shape our organisational culture and public voice.

In this role, you will lead dynamic internal and external communications while embedding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles into every layer of our engagement strategy. You will make sure our workforce and external stakeholders feel heard, valued, and well-informed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Leadership: Design and deliver comprehensive internal and external communications and engagement strategies aligned with our core values and EDI objectives.
  • EDI Integration: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all messaging, campaigns, and community outreach programs, ensuring accessibility for diverse and underrepresented groups.
  • Content Creation: Produce compelling content—including newsletters, campaign toolkits, digital updates, and social media announcements—that brings our mission to life.
  • Two-Way Engagement: Build feedback channels, employee resource groups (ERGs), and community forums to foster active dialogue and measure engagement sentiment.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, HR, and project teams to roll out organisational updates, celebrate milestones, and manage inclusive events.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Proven background (3+ years) in communications, public relations, community engagement, or change management, with experience of EDI-focused projects.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex messages for diverse audiences.
  • EDI Passion: A demonstrated, genuine commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and local communities.
  • Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with modern communication channels (Intranet, social media platforms, email marketing software, and survey tools).
  • Organised & Empathetic: Highly organised project manager who leads with empathy, active listening, and cultural awareness.
