Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and organised Communications & Social Media Contractor to support the charity’s external communications and community engagement activities. This paid and flexible role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for public relations, impact storying telling, and social media management to contribute to our organisation's growth and visibility across various digital and platforms.

Working approximately 40 hours per month, you will support the charity’s external communications and community engagement activities. This role will help strengthen our voice across Scotland and communicate our impact to key audiences including funders, donors, supporters, and community members.

Duties

  • Develop and implement effective social media strategies across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Create engaging, high-quality content tailored to different audiences, including posts, articles, videos, and infographics.
  • Manage social media activities such as scheduling posts, responding to comments, and monitoring engagement metrics.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Monitor industry trends and analyse social media performance data to optimise and support future campaigns.
  • Assist in managing public relations initiatives, including drafting press releases and liaising with media outlets.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with online communities, influencers, and stakeholders to enhance brand reputation.

Ideal Experience:

  • Experience in charity, non-profit, community, or purpose-led communications
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills
  • Familiarity with social media management and scheduling tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities across a monthly delivery schedule
