Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly in senior care settings, and will be skilled in behaviour management and dementia care. This role involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide support with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviours.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' health status and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses and other healthcare providers, to deliver comprehensive care.
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care or a nursing home setting is highly desirable.
- Proven skills in patient care, particularly with individuals living with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Certification in First Aid is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and their families.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to enhancing the lives of those you support.
