Full job description

Job Title: Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home - PLEASE NOTE, WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSORSHIPS! THIS IS A FULL TIME ROLE.
Location: Willenhall (Walsall not Coventry), & Wednesfield - You will be part of a Brand New Team re-opening our home!
Salary: £13.21ph – £14.46ph (dependent on experience and qualifications), sleep ins paid at £60, Overtime rate in place too!
Job Type: Full time, shifts are a 1 on 2 off, any sleep-ins are paid at £60 per sleep.

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join our team at a well-established children’s home in Willenhall & Wednesfield.

You will play a key role in providing emotional and practical support to children and young people with complex needs, helping them feel safe, respected, and supported in a stable home environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Support day-to-day routines including education, activities, meals, and bedtimes
  • Promote the physical and emotional well-being of the young people in your care
  • Assist in the development of personalised care plans
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports
  • Work closely with other professionals including social workers, therapists, and education staff

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people in a care, support, or educational setting (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
  • A nurturing and resilient attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A flexible approach to shift patterns including sleep-ins and weekends
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred)
