JRole Overview
We are seeking a reliable, skilled female support worker to provide overnight (night shift) support 2-3 times per week. Key shifts include Sundays and Mondays, with occasional Fridays. The role demands experience with serious medical complexity, including deep naso/oral suctioning, seizure management, and medication administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deep naso/oral suctioning (to approx. 18 cm) as needed for airway clearance
- Support management of severe epilepsy & seizures—monitoring, safe response, knowing rescue protocols
- Administer medications safely and keep accurate records
- Assist with PEG feeding when required (desirable, not always essential)
- Operate and monitor BiPAP ventilation (if qualified/desired)
- Use nebulisers, provide chest physiotherapy (desired skills)
- Provide personal care during nights: repositioning, prevention of pressure damage, managing distress or medical discomfort
- Maintain safety, comfort and hygiene, and respond to night-time medical needs
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working with toddlers or having cared for own children in relevant settings
- Must be competent with deep suctioning, both naso- and oral, to depth of 18 cm
- Strong experience of managing severe epilepsy and seizure care
- Certified training/use of medication administration protocols
- Demonstrable ability to follow medical / nursing plans and instructions accurately
Desirable Skills
- Experience with BiPAP or other ventilation support
- PEG feeding / enteral feeding practice
- Chest physiotherapy
- Experience with nebuliser treatments
Working Hours
- Night shifts 2-3 nights per week, including Sunday nights and Monday nights, and some Fridays
- Shift patterns to be agreed; must be willing to work overnight and unsociable hours

- Empathetic, patient, respectful; able to manage distress or medical crisis calmly
- Good communication skills and ability to work closely under guidance
