Purpose of the Role
To support and contribute to the delivery of business automation and digital system improvements, with a focus on implementing and maintaining workflow automation, system integrations and data processes. The role centers on applying practical automation experience, including the practical use of AI-enabled tools to enhance workflows, reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.
The position will work closely with IT and business functions to support innovation, improve data visibility, and assist in embedding automation and AI capabilities across the organisation.
Key Tasks
· Build, maintain and support automated workflows to reduce manual business processes across internal systems
· Configure and manage data flows between systems using available tools (e.g. APIs, connectors, file-based processes)
· Use AI-enabled features within existing platforms (e.g. Copilot, automation tools, document processing tools) to enhance workflows and improve efficiency
· Assist in identifying opportunities to automate or improve existing business processes
· Develop and maintain automated reports, dashboards and data outputs to support business operations
· Support the configuration, enhancement and integration of internal systems and applications
· Test, validate and document automation processes, system changes and AI-assisted outputs
· Monitor and troubleshoot existing automations to ensure reliability and accuracy
· Work with internal teams to understand processes and apply practical automation improvements
· Support end users with system-related queries, particularly relating to automated processes and data flows
· Liaise with third-party vendors where required to support system functionality and integrations
· Follow defined standards for documentation, change control and data security

· Deliver reliable and effective automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency
· Ensure automated workflows and data processes run consistently with minimal disruption
· Apply AI-enabled tools in a practical way to support business processes and improve productivity
· Improve data flow and accessibility across systems through effective use of automation and integrations
· Produce accurate and timely automated reporting outputs to support business decision-making
· Build and develop practical capability in automation tools, system integration and applied AI technologies
· Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and supporting opportunities to streamline processes
· Maintain high standards of data accuracy, system reliability and documentation
· Support team and project delivery through consistent, hands-on contribution within defined scope

Essential Skills & Attributes
· Practical experience using automation tools or techniques to reduce manual tasks or improve processes (e.g. workflows, scripting, RPA, or similar)
· Experience working with data in a business context (e.g. Excel, SQL, reporting tools or dashboards)
· Basic understanding of how systems exchange data (e.g. APIs, file-based processes, connectors)
· Experience using AI-enabled features within common business tools (e.g. Copilot, automation platforms, document processing tools)
· Ability to take a defined task or problem and implement a working, practical solution
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, particularly in relation to data accuracy and process reliability
· Ability to follow structured processes for testing, documentation and change control
· Good general understanding of IT systems, applications and data structures
· Ability to work independently on defined tasks and contribute effectively within a team environment
· Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
· Organised and methodical approach to managing tasks, troubleshooting issues and maintaining documentation
· Proactive approach to learning and applying new tools, particularly in automation and AI-enabled systems
Desirable
· Experience using automation or workflow tools in a practical context (e.g. Microsoft Power Platform, UiPath or similar RPA tools)
· Experience applying automation to improve or streamline business processes
· Basic scripting experience for automation purposes (e.g. Python, PowerShell)
· Experience working with data and reporting tools, such as:
· SQL Server or similar databases
· Power BI or other dashboard/reporting platforms
· Experience working with or supporting internal business systems (e.g. ERP, CRM or web-based applications)
· Exposure to using AI-enabled features within business tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform AI capabilities, document processing tools)
· Understanding of how systems integrate and exchange data in a business environment
· Experience gained through relevant roles, placements or practical project work involving automation or systems improvement
Qualifications
Degree in a STEM-related discipline preferred (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems).
Working Hours
Full-time, permanent position.
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.
30-minute lunch break.
Monthly pay in arrears (by the 28th of each month).
