Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced General Builder / Multi-Trade Operative with a strong background in responsive repairs and occupied residential properties in the Swindon/Wiltshire region. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, customer-focused tradesperson capable of carrying out a broad range of internal and external building works independently, delivering high-quality repairs within agreed SLAs and timescales. Responsive repairs experience is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance works in occupied residential properties
  • Undertake advanced carpentry and general building repairs
  • Complete kitchen and bathroom repairs, installations and refurbishments
  • Carry out wall and floor tiling to a good standard
  • Vinyl floor laying and repairs to a good standard
  • Perform patch plastering, making-good and minor plumbing works
  • Complete fencing installation, repairs and replacement works
  • Undertake external groundworks including paving, slabbing, concreting, drainage, and pathway repairs
  • Carry out brickwork repairs, pointing and general external maintenance
  • Diagnose building defects and complete effective repairs independently
  • Work professionally and respectfully within residents’ homes
  • Complete works within agreed service levels and target timescales
  • Accurately complete job records and material usage

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Advanced General Builder/ Multi-Trade Operative
  • Strong carpentry background
  • Extensive experience within response repairs and occupied properties
  • Competent in carpentry, general building, kitchen and bathroom works, tiling, vinyl flooring, fencing, groundworks, basic plumbing and patch plastering
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Pay: Up to £38,000.00 per year
