Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team supporting Epic at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
GOSH is one of the most digitally advanced Trusts in the UK accredited with HIMSS level 7 for Outpatients. Our vision is to create a digitally enabled organisation that supports the delivery of efficient and effective patient care, through easy-to-use systems providing the right information, in the right place, at the right time. In 2023 GOSH became the first Epic Connect site in the UK, sharing its EPR platform with The Royal Marsden Hospital (RMH).
We are looking for a passionate individual to lead a team of analysts to deliver BAU and ongoing optimisation across Epic's patient access applications (including Springboard, Cadence, Grand Central and HIM coding).
You will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge in Epic configuration (preferably in a relevant application) and experience of supporting ongoing optimisation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Ideally you will have experience of managing a team.
Working closely with your counterpart at RMH, you will provide oversight and technical knowledge of the applications, as well as supporting team development and providing a point of escalation for arising issues.
Our team works flexibly with remote and onsite days. You must be able to travel to all GOSH and RMH sites as required (Bloomsbury regularly, Chelsea and Sutton on request).
Main duties of the job
- Manage a team of configuration analysts ensuring that their work conforms to the design integrity for the designated application
- Provide line management support and deal with any HR issues arising from staff within the application team, such as sickness and performance, escalating where necessary according to Trust policy
- Hold joint responsibility with the EPR Programme team for new projects to be on time and within budget
- Project manage the designated application, to ensure the team meets all set deadlines
- Continue to develop highly specialist configuration knowledge of the designated application area to solve problems in build/reporting/testing
- Be an expert in the application area to assist the team with troubleshooting problems and address questions from end users regarding the application
- Utilise expert hospital knowledge and experience to develop pathways and new processes to support the configuration and implementation of the designated application which will impact on working practices across the Trust
- Analyse and document simple to highly complex clinical and administrative workflows, information, data collection and/or reporting requirements
Working for our organisation
Working for Our Organisation
We are committed to recruiting the best person for the job through a fair, open and consistent process that is free from bias and discrimination.
We are working towards becoming an anti-racist organisation. This means creating a workplace where every colleague feels seen, heard and valued, and where racism in any form has no place. Our anti-racism commitment is backed by action through our Anti-Racism Statement and action plan, developed in collaboration with our REACH staff network.
We actively challenge discrimination, dismantle barriers and embed equity across all aspects of our workforce, including recruitment, progression and development. All applicants will receive equal consideration regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, health condition or employment history.
We particularly welcome applications from ethnically diverse communities, people with disabilities or long-term health conditions, and LGBTQ+ community members. We are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, a member of the Business Disability Forum, and a Stonewall Diversity Champion.
Our staff networks, including REACH, PRIDE, ENABLED and Women’s Networks, are active and executive supported. These employee-led networks play a vital role in shaping an inclusive culture at GOSH and are open to all colleagues.
Together, we are building a culture where inclusion is not optional - it is essential.
