Full job description

Reporting to the Installations & Operations Manager, the role of the Lead Fitter is to organise and complete all assigned installation projects, adhering to the processes and standards set by Stafford uPVC Windows and building regulations. Represent Stafford uPVC Windows in a professional and courteous manner, both whilst on company property and customers premises.

You will be required to work from scaffolds, ladders and other access equipment.

Duties will include:

· Utilising the contract paperwork provided, ensure the correct products, materials and access equipment are taken to site each day.

· Communicate the approach to complete each project to your fitting team to ensure they have a clear understanding.

· To ensure a promotional sign is displayed throughout the completion of every job.

· Removal and installation of windows, doors, conservatory roofs etc with the use of hand and power tools in line with the contract.

· Highlight any issues experienced on site to the Installation Manager, taking relevant photographs / video to support in a timely and concise manner.

· Advise the Installation department of how each project is progressing regularly, advising the project will be completed as per the expectations of the project minutes.

· Keep the customer updated on the progression of their project in a detailed courteous manner.

· On the last day of the project, and where the job is complete, pass a hard copy Invoice to the customer.

· Completion and submission of all fitting related paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, including customer sign off and identifying any finishing requirements concisely.

· To provide the Installation dept with a photograph of every completed job on the last day of the installation.

· On return to site, correctly recycle old uPVC frames & trims; de-glaze and put into the correct skips.

· Weekly completion and submission of your time sheet and vehicle check sheet in a timely and accurately.

· Participation in training and refresher training in Manual Handling, Working at Heights and any other industry required training.

· As requested, take accurate measurements of windows and doors and support the Service department to complete warranty and chargeable jobs as agreed with the Installation Manager.

Vehicle:

· Take full responsibility for the cleanliness of the company vehicle, both inside and outside performing checks in accordance with the Vehicle check list and advising Business Support of any faults or issues.

The ideal Candidate to join our team:

  • Will have previous experience in a Lead installer / fitter role in the fenestration industry (minimum 5 years essential).
  • Will have a Full clean driving licence.
  • Will be able to produce a high standard of work.
  • Will be able to liaise with clients in a polite and respectful manner.
  • Will be able to work in a team and on own initiative.
  • Will be honest, reliable and punctual.
  • Will have excellent communication skills.

This is a very physically demanding job involving heavy lifting and moving up and down access equipment for a large part of the working day.

Hours: 45 hrs per week; 0700 – 1600 including 30 minutes paid break

Salary: Will be based on fitter minutes (price per products fitted) and a related hourly rate when on-site, which will be discussed at interview.
