The Concept:
London’s seminal board game bar. First appearing in an old railway arch in Haggerston in 2014, Draughts quickly grew a loyal following as one of the trailblazers in experiential venues. Now operating two central London locations, Draughts encourages customers to eat, drink, and play any of the thousand unique board games on our shelves.

Draughts is a trailblazer in experiential hospitality, redefining board games for a modern audience. Our mission is to entertain our customers with amazing food and drink whilst providing a healthy balance between the analogue and digital world. We do this by creating welcoming spaces that encourage people to be present and connect with each other, playing over the 1000’s unique board games on our shelves.

Our Venues:

Draughts Waterloo is a 150-capacity venue nestled set across a two floor railway arch within the iconic Leake Street Graffiti tunnel. Its revealed brickwork and high ceilings work in tandem to give a welcome juxtaposition: a spacious environment with an intimate atmosphere.

Draughts Hackney is the latest addition to the pack. This 250-capacity venue has seven interconnected rooms with a surprise around every corner. Its Grade II listed features ensure its carefully crafted elegance, while the addition of a conservatory, dive bar, and huge beer garden means there’s a place for almost every occasion. With a full-sized shuffle table, garden games, and even a podcast studio, it’s an amazing place for nights out, live events, or private parties.

The Role:
The role of our fantastic Front of House (FOH) team is to create a welcoming vibe for our customers. To make any concept bar successful, we need to provide great food and drinks offerings and hours of entertainment. But all of that’s just a part of the puzzle. Without incredible service, we can’t deliver a market-leading experience; and that’s where you come in. You are the heartbeat of the brand. You work in harmony with our team (your team) to build an engaging atmosphere for our guests. You will learn from an elite group of experienced operators who know how to show people a good time and how to have a good time doing it.

Responsibilities include:

·Playing a key role in delivering a superior guest experience

·Communicating with customers

·Taking orders, serving food and drinks, and clearing tables

·Being a reliable, personable, organised, and flexible team player

·Attending team training to help grow your knowledge of hospitality

·Adhering to the weekly cleaning schedule

·Demonstrating attention to detail

·Stock rotation

·Embracing the concept and being excited about the games

Success will be measured on your reliability, enthusiasm, and ability to learn and grow in the role.

We are looking for:

·Previous experience in hospitality preferred.

·Board game knowledge is preferred but not essential.

·Enthusiasm and a positive energy.

·Someone able to take instruction.

·Willingness to learn.

Pay: £11.95-£14.00 per hour
