About us
Fineline Windows & Conservatories Ltd is an established business that is continuing to grow. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Door & Window Service Engineer to join our team in Burntwood. This is a long term, full-time role and the successful applicant can start immediately.
We manufacture UPVC windows, bay windows, front and rear Composite doors, French doors and bi-folds in our modern factory and fit them into plots on New Build sites. This role will be based within our customer care team who resolve any snagging issues post installation and undertake warranty work.
Example jobs are adjusting window mechanisms / doors / handles / changing window units. You will be operating throughout the Midlands, within an approximate 60 mile radius of our Burntwood office.
The role will involve:
- Travelling to customers’ homes and building sites to resolve issues related to all aspects of windows & doors to a high standard.
- Ensuring any remedial works are completed promptly and ensuring any additionally required spare parts are clearly and accurately communicated.
-Able to adapt during the working day to cover any urgent jobs which may be received.
- Reporting any difficulties and service updates to head office.
- All your service calls are by appointment only
About you
- You must be able to carry out work out to the highest standards of workmanship and in line with H&S procedures.
- It is essential that you are fully equipped with your own hand and power tools.
- Committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
-Previous experience working with uPVC windows and door products is essential.
-Excellent punctuality and reliability.
-You will have outstanding attention to detail and take pride in producing exceptional work.
-Have a customer centred approach.
-You must have the ability and experience to undertake repairs and assess any additional issues and fully report on the parts required to be ordered
You will be confident in the handling of glass units.
A valid CSCS card is desirable.
A full UK driving license is essential for travel to and from customer sites. A Company vehicle will be provided.
- Minimum 3 years experience is required;
- You will have a CSCS card or be willing to undertake the relevant test, for which we will pay;
- You will have a clean driving licence and you will have your own tools;
- Ideally you will be located close to the factory or be happy to relocate;
- Able to work alone.
Duties will include:
Our days usually start early on an 8-hour shift and you will travel to your jobs from the factory after loading the days’ glass and replacement / spare parts on to your van.
You will then return to the factory to complete the required paperwork and advise if additional work or other spare parts are required from that days' jobs. Typically, you will be back at the office around 5:00pm each day, although it may occasionally be later, depending on workloads.
