About us

Sheerwater Glass is a family run business, established in 1972. From our Guildford showroom we help homeowners across Surrey and the surrounding counties transform their homes with stylish windows, doors, conservatories, orangeries and roof lanterns in uPVC, aluminium and timber.

We are BSI accredited for the survey and installation of window and door sets, a standard held by only a small number of installers in the UK. Above all, we are known for honest advice and a relaxed, no pressure approach, and we want our team to feel just as comfortable as our customers.

The role

As a Home Design Consultant you will look after customers who have directly shown an interest in improving their home. You will get in touch, arrange appointments, and visit customers at home, listening to their needs and what they hope to achieve. You will help them choose colours, styles, glazing and finishes that suit their home and their budget, then prepare clear, professional quotations and support them through to their order. You will also welcome visitors to our showroom and help them explore our range.

This is a consultative, relationship based role. Every customer you speak to has come to us first, and many of our sales come from recommendations and repeat business.

You will:

  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries by phone and email, and arrange appointments
  • Welcome customers to our showroom and talk them through our products
  • Visit customers at home to offer friendly, knowledgeable design advice on products, colours and finishes
  • Measure up and prepare accurate quotations
  • Follow up with customers thoughtfully and keep them informed
  • Keep your appointments and enquiries up to date on our system

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience as a kitchen, bathroom or interior designer, or in another consultative home improvement role
  • Have a good eye for design and enjoy talking about style and detail
  • Are confident using CAD or other design software (preferred, but not essential)
  • Build rapport easily and genuinely enjoy helping people
  • Are organised, reliable and comfortable using technology
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own car

You don’t need any experience of windows or doors. We will give you full product training and support while you settle in.
