UPVC & ALUMINIUM WINDOWS, DOORS, CURTAIN WALLING OPERATIONS MANAGER

Based at our Head Office in Clay Cross, Chesterfield - advertised in commutable locations.

We are actively looking for an Operations Manager to join us, working across our Urban Windows, Doors and Conservatories and Urban Facades divisions.

The two divisions are leading manufacturers of windows, doors and curtain walling, Urban Facades specialising in Aluminium and Urban Windows, Doors and Conservatories in uPVC.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion, as well as managing and co-ordinating other Contracts Managers within the businesses. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a strong technical understanding of windows and doors.

The role would be split between head office and site with the need to attend site to carry out surveys or attend meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the “Fenestration” industry.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence
  • Have experience of working on construction sites, experience of liaising with subcontractors and Clients
  • Hold a valid CSCS card (SSSTS or SMSTS would be advantageous).
  • Have a thorough understanding of construction drawings.
  • Have the ability to carry out site surveys.
  • Have experience writing programmes, setting and meeting weekly targets in accordance with deadlines and budgets.
  • Team management experience

Duties (for yourself but to also ensuring your staff are following these duties)

  • Effectively project manage new customer contracts so as to satisfy clients.
  • Plan, manage and deliver projects, so as to achieve the business case and objectives on which the project was authorised.
  • Working alongside our in-house design department
  • Issuing drawings to clients for approval and sign off on fabrication.
  • Corresponding with external stakeholders to document all activities
  • Developing plans to fit the schedule of works
  • Organisation and management of labour
  • Ordering and organising to site of all materials need for project completion
  • Monitoring site progress & programme
  • Coordination with other trades and other contracts managers within the business
  • Recording delays and picking up variations.
  • Identifying ways to increase efficiency and improve productivity
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Attending a range of project meetings
  • Preparation of work in progress reports for submission to Directors.
