Building Team / Multi-Skilled Builders

Coastal Windows and Conservatories are actively seeking a reliable, experienced building team — either employed or subcontractors — ideally with their own transport, to undertake all aspects of building work associated with the supply and installation of conservatories and small, single-storey extensions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced building team to work alongside an established conservatory and installation company, carrying out the preparation and structural building works required before our installation teams attend site.

Key Responsibilities

The successful team will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of building and groundwork associated with conservatory and extension projects, including:

• Excavation and preparation of foundations and conservatory bases.
• Digging out and preparing sites ready for construction.
• Concrete foundations, slabs and bases.
• Bricklaying and blockwork to form conservatory dwarf walls and extension walls.
• Construction of conservatory bases to the required dimensions and specifications.
• Installation of lintels and structural supports, including lintel insertions into existing properties.
• Forming and altering structural openings for doors, windows and new openings.
• Underpinning and associated structural building works where required.
• Drainage, including alterations, connections and installation where required.
• Making good and adapting existing brickwork to suit new conservatory and extension installations.
• Working from drawings, specifications and site measurements.
• Working alongside our conservatory installation teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to programme.
• Liaising with site managers, surveyors and installation teams where required.
• Keeping work areas clean, safe and professionally maintained.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant building regulations and site requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in general building, groundworks and structural alterations.
• Experience constructing conservatory bases, foundations, dwarf walls and associated brickwork.
• Experience with lintel installation and forming structural openings.
• Bricklaying and blockwork experience.
• Experience operating a mini digger.
• Ability to read and work from building drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of construction methods and site safety.
• Valid CSCS card preferred.
• Own transport is preferred, although this can be discussed.
• Own basic tools and equipment.
• Reliable, professional and able to work to agreed schedules.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
