Join Our Team at Capital
At Capital, we’re a leading nationwide multidisciplinary construction company specialising in commercial and retail projects. With an expanding portfolio of exciting works for 2026 and beyond, we’re seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Manager to join our close-knit team and drive the successful delivery of our projects.
This role is ideally suited to someone with Tier 2/3 design and build principal contractor experience.
What You’ll Do
As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee projects from tender to completion, ensuring seamless execution, client satisfaction, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
Pre-Contract (Tendering & Procurement)
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and contractors.
- Conduct site/scoping visits as required.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Team to develop accurate cost plans.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are integrated into cost planning and pre-construction phases.
- Create and manage project programmes and construction details.
- Develop site setup plans and Construction Phase Plans with our internal H&S advisor.
- Manage the design process with specialist sub-contractors, in house design team and novated design team.
Live Projects
- Understand the project and how it is to be put together.
- Implement company and health and safety procedures on-site.
- Conduct regular site visits, attend progress meetings, and provide detailed progress reports.
- Manage and communicate drawing changes, coordinating with commercial and senior management teams.
- Manage your site team
- Resolve issues proactively, develop solutions, and review contractor variations.
Post-Contract & Completion
- Oversee snag resolution and any additional client requirements.
- Facilitate client and contractor liaison to ensure smooth project closeout.
- Conduct contractor and process reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a proactive, client-focused professional with exceptional organisational and communication skills. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring the following:
- Experience & Education: A construction-related degree (2:1 or higher) or 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction disciplines and health and safety regulations.
- Skills: Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Essential: Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
