Full job description

We are seeking a Trainee Installer to be part of our continued success story and ambitious plans across the UK.

They will be working with a qualified Lead Installer and will be required to support with installations, dismantles, variation works and assists Service Engineers with Periodic Inspections and Tests in line with the relevant regulations, Manufacturers Guidelines and company policies. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Installer department within the UK's leading Mast Climbing Work Platform rental company.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Working within the method statement, carry out installations, dismantles, variation works and assist Service Engineers with Periodic Inspections and Tests in line with the relevant regulations, Manufacturers Guidelines and company policies
  • Complete relevant risk assessments and only proceed with work if it is safe to do so
  • Taking care of all components/stock including mast bolts, deck pins, scaffold fittings etc. and ensuring these are returned to the yard once no longer needed on site (even if damaged)
  • Assist colleagues with tasks such as loading and unloading equipment from vehicles
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed in all areas and be an ardent champion of safety in line with both the Company and legal requirements
  • Develop innovating ways to undertake to install MCWP’s using new equipment and flexible methods
  • Ensure standards of technical competence are maintained
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures as well as legislation
  • Ensure compliance to the SHEQ Responsibility Statements and Policies
  • Engaging and liaising with supervisors to find solutions to possible on-site problems
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role

Training will be given, however, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant experience or qualifications within the powered access industry.
  • Having a CSCS Card is a must.
  • Having a driving licence is essential
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude
  • Ability to work on a computer, as all reports are completed via Tablet forms
  • Attention to detail
