Medical Secretary

Bank contract

£17ph

Shifts will be Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm - shifts will vary week to week depending on need but will primarily be to cover leave and sickness absence with additional admin assistance from time to time.

Role Overview

As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support for the Medical Secretaries' department. You will interact with patients, consultants, staff and visitors to facilitate a coordinated pathway of care for patients.

What you'll do

  • To provide admin support to the department. To prioritise doctors' workload accordingly ensuring each practitioner's work is accurately completed on time.
  • To always maintain a polite and friendly manner and a high standard of confidentiality
  • To work as part of a team - showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.
  • To file all correspondence, test results and referral letters into the patient's notes before returning to medical records.
  • To receive telephone messages and relevant queries. Send/receive faxed messages and relay promptly to doctor concerned. To request patient information from outside organisations
  • To support in the coordination of our multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure consultant engagement and the smooth running of the meeting.
