The Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to join StayAhead Training as a Training Consultant, delivering high‑quality SQL, Oracle PL/SQL and database‑related learning experiences to a wide range of clients. Working remotely, you’ll play a central role in shaping and delivering our Introduction, Intermediate and Advanced courses in various RDBMS’s including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB and Microsoft SQL Server but also providing guidance and support in the application of these principles to real-world projects; both virtually and in person.

You’ll help learners build real‑world capability across relational database concepts, SQL querying, development principles and practical application in live project environments. You will also support the continued development of our wider course catalogue, ensuring our programmes remain modern, relevant and aligned with industry best practice.

About You

You bring at least two years’ commercial training experience delivering SQL training across· within database technologies is preferred, particularly in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Exposure to PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL/MariaDB environments would be desirable, with Oracle APEX knowledge considered a plus. You’re confident presenting to diverse audiences and have a natural ability to break down complex concepts clearly and engagingly.

You’re comfortable designing training materials, adapting content for different groups and tailoring delivery to suit varied learning styles. Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills come naturally, and whether you’ve worked in a corporate training role or similar teaching‑focused environment, you’re passionate about helping people grow their technical skills.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will deliver StayAhead’s established Oracle SQL and PL/SQL and database‑related training courses, as well as contribute to the design and enhancement of new modules and learning resources. You’ll create high‑quality courseware, develop interactive materials, and shape content to meet the specific needs of both public and private clients.

You’ll stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and advancements in SQL development and database technologies, ensuring your training is always current and impactful. Beyond delivery, you’ll support our sales teams by contributing to proposals, assisting with client pitches, and identifying opportunities to drive new business. You may also take part in marketing activity, including writing blogs, whitepapers or case studies that showcase your expertise.
