About the opportunity

This is a contract role based in Bristol, offering the chance to contribute to cloud architecture and infrastructure delivery within a forward-thinking technology environment. You would be working alongside experienced engineers to design, implement and maintain cloud-native solutions, with exposure to enterprise-scale systems and the chance to develop deeper expertise in distributed cloud platforms.

What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

• Contributing to the design and deployment of cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS platforms
• Supporting the implementation and management of containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Assisting with CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform
• Collaborating with development teams to optimise microservices architecture and API-driven solutions
• Maintaining and troubleshooting cloud-based systems and supporting infrastructure as code practices
• Contributing to data pipeline implementation and ensuring data quality standards
• Documenting infrastructure decisions and best practices for team knowledge sharing

What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

• Solid experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Working knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Proficiency with at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, Java)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong problem-solving approach and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Nice-to-have:

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or equivalent
• Experience with .NET, ASP.NET or Spring Boot frameworks
• Knowledge of data pipeline tools and practices
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging and observability solutions
