Financial Controller

Status: Permanent

Opportunity for a Financial Controller to work with a growing business and part of a wider team. Would suit candidates who hold a professional accountancy qualification and who are able to work independently.

Overview Job Description:

This is a senior finance role that will report directly to the Finance Director and will play a key part in supporting the wider business through effective financial management, reporting, and control.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and compliance procedures
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities
  • Analyse financial performance and provide insightful commentary to management
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
  • Coordinate external audit requirements and liaise with professional advisors
  • Partner with operational teams to support commercial and strategic decision-making
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies

Applicants to this role require:

  • Previous experience in a similar senior finance position
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA, ACA or equivalent) preferred, although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise
  • Strong systems and Excel skills, with experience using ERP or finance systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently whilst effectively managing competing priorities
  • High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional integrity
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset
