Location: Hybrid - around the London Borough of Hounslow (minimum 2 days a week working in the community)

Hours: 37.5 hours a week some evenings and weekends may be required

About the role:

The Health Advisor Cook & Eat will use their knowledge of healthy eating to deliver fun and educational cooking sessions in the community. You’ll support Hounslow residents to make positive lifestyle changes through motivational support and behaviour change techniques. This role involves working closely with local services and community groups to promote health and wellbeing in an inclusive and engaging way. You’ll help people improve their diet, get more active, reduce stress, and feel better overall through a holistic, person-centered approach.

Key responsibilities:

  • Empower clients to adopt healthier lifestyles through tailored support in nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellbeing.
  • Deliver engaging sessions, both one-to-one and group-based, including workshops, health talks, and healthy cooking classes.
  • Guide clients through SMART goal setting and provide up to 10 personalized sessions to support progress and motivation.
  • Use evidence-based techniques such as motivational interviewing and behaviour change strategies to encourage lasting habits.
  • Conduct holistic assessments to identify individual needs, barriers, and readiness to change, ensuring inclusive, person-centered care.
  • Collaborate with community partners, attend outreach events, and promote services to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage referrals, and ensure timely communication with clients and professionals.
  • Contribute to service development by mentoring new staff, attending training, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

About You:

  • AfN accredited degree in nutrition
