AI Creative Copywriter — Birmingham

WHO WE ARE

MTRX is a performance creative agency producing 5,000+ ads a month for 7–8 figure e-commerce brands. We manage £30M+ in ad spend across supplements, fragrance, apparel, pet, and more.

Six months ago we launched an AI branch — now servicing 20+ clients a month with a team of 15+, including an in-house creative strategy team of 5. We make high-converting video ads for 7-figure brands using AI tools that most agencies haven't even heard of yet.

We're on track to be the #1 performance creative agency in the UK. This role is for the AI branch.

THE ROLE

You'll learn to write 7–8 ad scripts a day across multiple brands and formats: AI UGC, AI podcast-style, animated explainers, founder stories, debate formats, and more.

A typical day looks like:

  • Morning: review AI content from the editors
  • Write 5–7 scripts based on research and data from your creative manager
  • Group learning session — reviewing ads, brainstorming, breaking down what works
  • Revise scripts based on feedback

You'll be trained in person. Not theory — real client work from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Hard Skills

  • AI ad creative — the highest-leverage skill in marketing right now, and 95% of agencies still can't do it properly
  • Direct response copywriting — the kind that actually moves money
  • Customer psychology — awareness levels, market sophistication, how buyers decide
  • Hook writing and customer language mining
  • The full AI production stack: Seedance, Kling, Veo, Higgsfield, Nano Banana, ElevenLabs
  • Performance marketing fundamentals — what makes an ad scale vs. flop on Meta and TikTok
  • Working across verticals: supplements, fragrance, apparel, pet, legal, telehealth

Soft Skills

  • Speed and execution — shipping daily, not perfecting forever
  • Taking feedback without ego — the single trait that separates writers who level up from those who don't
  • Pattern recognition — seeing what works across hundreds of ads
