Full job description

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a highly successful and well-known manufacturing business located in Pershore. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Author to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, to independently produce high-level documentation. You will work hands-on with the machinery to translate complex engineering into clear, accurate manuals and qualification packages.

This position is office based, working Monday – Friday 08:00am – 16:30pm offering a salary of up to £45,000 which will be pending relevant, previous experience.

About the Role

Do you enjoy turning complex engineering into clear, professional documentation?

At PPS, no two projects are the same. Every machine we build is bespoke, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide variety of engineering projects rather than producing repetitive documentation.

Unlike many Technical Author roles, you will work directly with our Design, Production and Project teams and see the machinery throughout the build process, collaborating closely with our engineers to ensure that every document accurately reflects the finished equipment.

This is a role where your curiosity and engineering understanding really matter. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of how complex machinery works and turn that knowledge into documentation that is clear, useful and genuinely valuable to the customer.

If you have experience documenting machinery, automation systems or other complex engineered products, we will support you in developing the specialist knowledge required for pharmaceutical validation documentation and industry-specific requirements.

If you take pride in producing high-quality documentation, enjoy understanding how things work and like working closely with experienced engineers, we’d like to hear from you.

Technical Author main duties:

  • Producing full documentation packages (Manuals, IQ/OQ, SDS, HDS, DQ, and FDS).
  • Working directly with physical machinery to ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Contributing to the department to help streamline documentation processes.
  • Ensuring all documentation meets required industry standards.

Technical Author required skills and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in a technical authoring role with a technical or automation background.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent written English and communication skills.
  • Organised, attentive to detail, and a desire to pursue a career in engineering.
  • Taking care of the company and customers as though they were your own.
  • Pursuing new ideas and listening to creative suggestions.
  • Encouraging initiative and adopting a well-managed environment.
  • Working together with respect to achieve results without conflict.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Experience as a Technical Author, or experience producing technical documentation within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written English with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Confidence interpreting technical information and working closely with engineering teams.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A proactive and methodical approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across different areas of the business.

Desirable

We welcome applicants from a wide range of engineering and manufacturing sectors, including:

  • Special purpose machinery
  • Automation and robotics
  • Packaging machinery
  • Food manufacturing equipment
  • Medical devices
  • Process engineering
  • Capital equipment manufacturing
  • Aerospace or automotive manufacturing

This is a remarkable opportunity for a passionate and driven professional to contribute to the success of world-leading manufacturing business.

If this job sounds ideal for you, then do not miss out and apply NOW!
