Overview

As a Culinary Arts & Food Service Intern, you bring a comprehensive foundation in Swiss-aligned hospitality standards and operational management to hotel operations. This cross-functional role provides immersive, hands-on experience across both back-of-house kitchen workflows and front-of-house guest service. You will refine your technical culinary techniques under senior chefs while deploying versatile front-of-house skills across fine dining, casual setups, and high-volume banquet events.

Duties

  • Culinary Operations: Execute precise knife skills, ingredient prep (mise en place), stock preparation, and station support during live kitchen service.
  • Service Delivery: Provide attentive table service across fine dining and casual restaurant environments, ensuring smooth guest interactions and proper order delivery.
  • Events & Banquets: Assist with high-volume food assembly, line plating, and banquet hall setup for corporate and private events.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Maintain strict HACCP food safety, sanitation, and kitchen sanitation standards across all prep, cooking, and service areas.
  • Cross-Department Support: Assist with inventory control, station breakdown, shift handovers, and guest inquiry handling.

QUALIFICATION

  • Education: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or Food & Beverage program.
  • Core Skills: Proficiency in fundamental culinary techniques, knife work, and adaptable service styles (fine dining and casual).
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for guest service and kitchen team coordination.
  • Standards & Knowledge: Working knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP principles, and dining service etiquette.
  • Personal Attributes: High energy, adaptability in fast-paced environments, strong attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset.
