An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone looking to develop a career in the legal profession within a well established and respected law firm. The successful candidate will provide administrative and practical support to our fee earners, helping to deliver an excellent service to our clients.

The role and candidate

As a Legal Assistant, your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing administrative support to solicitors and other fee earners.
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documents.
  • Managing files and ensuring documents are accurately maintained.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, barristers and other professionals by telephone, email and in person.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post.
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meetings.
  • Opening and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Assisting with billing and general office administration.
  • Undertaking other duties as required to support the department.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to work accurately with excellent attention to detail.
  • Be confident using Microsoft Office and case management systems (experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Be professional, approachable and client-focused.
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous legal or administrative experience would be advantageous.
