Job Summary

ECS Systems is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety and compliance activities related to our work installing and maintaining fire & security systems. Based at our office in Sidcup the role involves site visits within the South East. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting best practices. The ideal applicant will have strong communication and organisation skills and work well within a team. Experience of security systems is especially helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update health and safety policies specific to fire & security systems and site operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and organisational policies regarding health & safety to support the renewal of relevant memberships & accreditation.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Organise & monitor health, safety & compliance training for all employees. Maintain training records.
  • Complete client compliance questionnaires
  • Provide advice and support to management and teams on health and safety matters.
  • Investigate safety incidents or near misses, updating records and performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures, including first aid arrangements and evacuation plans.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of safety measures and recommend enhancements where necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in a health & safety advisory role within environments utilising security systems or similar technical infrastructure.
  • NEBOSH certification
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation applicable within the UK.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of delivering training and producing clear documentation.This role offers an engaging opportunity for a committed professional eager to promote a culture of safety whilst leveraging their expertise in security systems.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, demonstrable experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis and report writing.
  • First aid certification is essential; additional qualifications in risk management or occupational health are advantageous.
  • Experience using digital compliance systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
