Monitoring and Operations Controller

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Monitoring & Operations Controller, with a front line SIA licence, to join our established team at Marpol Security HQ in Golborne. The role operates on a 12-hour shift pattern of 05:30 to 17:30, working 4 days on followed by 4 days off, averaging approximately 42 hours per week.

This is a key operational role within our growing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for CCTV monitoring, Security systems, operational coordination, client and employee liaison, emergency response, reporting, staff scheduling and absence management.

You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day to day running of our security operations while maintaining excellent communication and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and operating CCTV surveillance systems across multiple sites and platforms.
  • Actively monitoring security systems and responding appropriately to incidents, alerts and requests.
  • Dealing professionally with clients, employees, security officers and members of the public by telephone, email and other communication channels.
  • Responding to operational queries and ensuring issues are dealt with promptly and effectively.
  • Providing and coordinating emergency response, including liaising with mobile response teams, security officers and emergency services where necessary.
  • Coordinating the response to incidents and ensuring appropriate actions are recorded and communicated.
  • Producing accurate internal reports, client reports, incident reports, daily records and detailed handovers.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate operational records in line with company procedures and client requirements.
  • Scheduling and rostering security staff to ensure appropriate levels of operational cover are maintained.
  • Managing and responding to staff absence, including arranging suitable emergency or short notice cover.
  • Monitoring upcoming staffing requirements and proactively identifying potential gaps in cover.
  • Liaising with management regarding staffing, operational issues, incidents and service-level requirements.
  • Ensuring all communications and actions are handled professionally and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive operational and employee information.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience working within a Control Room
  • Experience in navigating monitoring and security systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, especially in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Professional and proactive attitude

Desirable:

  • Experience in staff rostering and scheduling
  • SIA CCTV Licence
