Summer School Assistant – Cambridge (Residential Position)

Location: Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, UK
Dates: 18 July – 3 September 2026

Are you looking for a rewarding and varied summer role in the heart of Cambridge?

SAES Summer School is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Summer School Assistant to join our team at Corpus Christi College. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience working with international students while spending the summer in one of the world's most inspiring academic environments.

About Us

SAES Summer School has been delivering high-quality English language and academic preparation courses for international students for over 40 years. We welcome students from around the world and offer a dynamic, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

The Role

Working closely with the General Manager and Course Leader, you will provide practical support across all aspects of the summer programme. No two days are the same, and flexibility, initiative, and a positive attitude are essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the planning, organisation, and supervision of activities and excursions
  • Supporting the day-to-day administration and smooth running of the summer school
  • Helping to coordinate student arrivals, departures, and general logistics
  • Providing practical support to international student groups throughout their stay
  • Assisting with childcare and organising activities for a 9-year-old child
  • Supporting the General Manager/Course Leader with a range of operational tasks as required

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be currently resident in Cambridge or the immediate surrounding area
  • Be available for the full duration of the programme (18 July – 3 September 2026)
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • German speaking not required

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Organised, responsible, and dependable
  • Energetic, proactive, and adaptable
  • Friendly and confident when working with young people
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team
  • Interested in international education and cultural exchange

Previous experience working with children, teenagers, summer camps, tutoring, childcare, sports coaching, or youth programmes is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours and Benefits

  • Approximately 5–6 working days per week
  • Flexible working hours, depending on the programme schedule
  • Residential position based at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge
  • Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international education and programme management
  • Work in a unique and vibrant environment with international students
