Full job description

Childrens Well-Being Practitioner

2 full time roles available to cover the following areas: Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Malling and Tunbridge Wells

Are you ready to put your skills and experience into action in a community-based forward-thinking service? Do you have a passion for early intervention and a drive to help children, young people, and their families thrive? Can you bring the experience and insight needed to work in a healing-centered, trauma-informed way — creating meaningful, lasting change in the lives of those you support?

If the answer is ‘yes!’, then we hope that you will be interested to hear that Salus have been commissioned by NHS Kent and Medway to provide the Kent Children and Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Therapeutic Alliance (KTA) for children and young people with moderate mental health and wellbeing needs. We are looking for passionate, suitably qualified individuals to be part of a multi-disciplinary team where you’ll play a key role in shaping and developing an evolving service.

This groundbreaking new service will be co-produced, needs-led and underpinned by a robust clinical governance framework, aligned with NICE and NHS guidance.

Key responsibilities for the postholder will include providing structured wellbeing coaching and guided self-help to children and young people, supporting them to build resilience, improve emotional wellbeing and develop positive coping strategies. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the mental health needs of CYP, experience delivering low-intensity or guided self-help interventions, and a genuine passion for creating positive change.

Interventions will be delivered on either a 1-1 or group basis, giving you variety and a chance to make a real difference.
