Full job description

Freelance Therapist, Remote (UK)

About Attune

Attune is a therapy platform built around a simple idea: the relationship between therapist and client is central to good therapy.

Rather than matching clients primarily by modality or availability, Attune focuses on relational fit: how a therapist thinks, communicates and works therapeutically, and how that aligns with the individual client.

We are preparing for launch on 24th November 2026 and are building a carefully curated network of thoughtful, skilled clinicians across a range of therapeutic approaches.

About the role

This is a freelance role for qualified therapists who want to build and sustain meaningful clinical work through a platform designed around relational fit. Attune is an online platform, and you can also offer in-person sessions if you wish.

Clients are matched with therapists based on relational alignment, with the aim of creating stronger therapeutic connections and supporting deeper engagement.

You retain full clinical autonomy, including how you practise and set your fees and availability. Sessions are 50 minutes, and clients can book a free 15-minute introductory call with you before committing. Attune provides the surrounding platform infrastructure, including client matching, secure video sessions, booking, payments and administrative support.

Attune operates on a 15% commission model, taken only when a client books and attends a session. There are no monthly, setup or exit fees. We ask that the rate you set on Attune is no higher than the rate you advertise elsewhere for the same session.

What we're looking for

  • Registration and/or accreditation with a recognised UK professional body, such as BACP, UKCP, NCPS, HCPC, BABCP, BPS, BPC or COSCA
  • A recognised, substantive qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology or a closely related field
  • Current professional indemnity insurance
  • Experience providing therapeutic work with adults
  • A thoughtful, relational approach to clinical work
  • Ability to build and sustain a strong therapeutic alliance
  • Confidence conducting assessments and delivering ongoing therapeutic work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse client base
  • Confidence delivering therapy online
  • Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality and professional standards
  • A professional-quality therapist profile photo
  • A professional, private and confidential environment suitable for video sessions
  • Availability for a minimum of 4-5 hours of client work per week, with flexibility around when those hours are delivered

We particularly welcome practitioners who are comfortable being themselves in the therapy room and who value genuine therapeutic connection over rigid branding or performance.

We are especially keen to hear from EMDR practitioners and from counsellors and therapists who work with couples, as these are areas we are actively growing within our network.

Our onboarding

Every therapist on Attune is verified against their professional body's register and insurance before they appear in matches, and re-checked regularly after that. Every therapist is also interviewed by a clinician before going live.

Interview

The interview is a 30-45 minute conversation over Microsoft Teams about your values and how you work.

We ask you to join in the same way you would meet a client. Please:

  • Set aside 30-45 minutes of uninterrupted time
  • Join from a calm, considered space with a genuine background rather than a blurred or generated background
  • Ensure the space is well presented and adequately lit
  • Turn off auto-framing in Teams so that your camera view remains steady and natural

This is not about performance. We simply want to get a sense of what it would feel like for a client to enter your online therapeutic space.

How to apply

Apply through Indeed with your CV and a short note explaining how you work therapeutically. We read every application personally.

Application question(s):

  • Are you accredited and/or registered as a therapist with a recognized UK professional body (e.g. BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BABCP)
  • Do you hold a recognized, substantive qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, or a closely related field
