Sub-Contractor School Counsellor (Self-Employed)
North and South Lanarkshire | Part-time (term-time only, hours set by school) | Self-employed / Sub-contractor

Our team of qualified counsellors works directly with schools to create safe spaces for students to talk openly about their feelings, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges. We're passionate about making therapeutic support more accessible to young people—right where they need it most.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver one-to-one counselling sessions to pupils within a school environment (primary and/or secondary)
- Work collaboratively with pastoral and safeguarding staff to ensure student wellbeing
- Maintain clear and accurate clinical records in line with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Support the development of a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive school environment
- Identify when further support or referral is required and follow appropriate escalation procedures
What we’re looking for
- A qualified counsellor with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling (or equivalent)
- Registration with BACP, UKCP, NCS or equivalent (or working towards accreditation)
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or youth setting
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work independently and professionally within school environments
- Membership of the PVG Scheme (or willingness to join before commencing work)
- Access to your own transport to travel to and from school sites across Central Scotland
