Full job description

The Whole You Counselling is building a Gloucestershire associate team to deliver occupational health counselling to public sector employees. That includes council staff, schools and uniformed services. We're looking for experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who want regular, well-organised referral work alongside their own practice.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering structured, time-limited counselling (sets of six 50-minute sessions) to employees referred through an occupational health service
  • Working with stress, anxiety, low mood, bereavement, workplace conflict, bullying and harassment, and trauma-related presentations
  • Agreeing a clear focus from session one, and using CORE-10 at the start, midpoint and end
  • Contacting each referred client within 5 working days and offering a first session within 21 working days
  • Managing your own diary and returning end-of-contract forms within 5 working days
  • Recognising risk and escalating safeguarding concerns the same working day
  • Handling all client information securely, using encrypted email and pseudonymised records
  • For supervisor-qualified practitioners: delivering reflective practice to staff in public-facing and leadership roles (up to four sessions each)

Essential

  • Full membership of BACP, UKCP or BABCP (accredited status strongly preferred)
  • At least 2 years' post-qualification experience, not counting training hours
  • At least 400 hours of client work with adults since qualifying
  • A clinical supervisor who will confirm in writing that they will supervise this work
  • An in-date Basic DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one now
  • Based in or within easy reach of Gloucestershire, for face-to-face sessions in Gloucester
  • Your own professional indemnity insurance

Desirable

  • Experience in EAP, occupational health, NHS Talking Therapies or workplace counselling
  • Experience with public sector, education or blue-light staff
  • CBT, EMDR or trauma-informed training
  • A clinical supervision qualification (for reflective practice work)
