Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting pharmacy operations, and ensuring patients receive accurate and timely assistance. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in pharmacy and retail settings and have a strong commitment to patient care. Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their pharmacy needs at the counter
  • Support pharmacy technicians with medication administration tasks as required
  • Provide information on over-the-counter products and health-related queries in a professional manner
  • Maintain organised and tidy pharmacy shelves and work areas
  • Process transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system
  • Assist in managing stock levels, including ordering and receiving supplies
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including confidentiality of patient information
  • Support patient care initiatives by offering guidance on medication usage and storage

Experience

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy counter assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly demeanour
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is desirable but not essential
