Front of House Team MemberIntroduction to the role

We’re looking for a motivated, friendly and passionate team member to join us as a Front of House Team Member. Based at our Cotswolds coffee roastery just outside Cirencester, you’ll be an important part of our café team, helping us deliver a welcoming, efficient and high-quality experience for every customer who walks through the door.

This role is ideal for someone who loves hospitality, takes pride in providing great customer service and enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced café environment. You’ll be customer-facing throughout your shift, making sure our guests feel welcomed, looked after and leave wanting to come back.

We’re looking for someone who has an eye for detail, takes a hands-on approach and isn’t afraid to get stuck in. You’ll work closely with the wider café, kitchen and coffee teams to keep service running smoothly and to a consistently high standard.

This can be either a part-time or full-time role, with weekend availability expected.

We’re a fast-growing speciality coffee roastery based in the Cotswold countryside, just outside of Cirencester.

Alongside our roastery, we have a busy café serving speciality coffee, brunch and other food and drinks. We also work closely with partners across the country — predominantly independent coffee shops, restaurants, hotels and food service groups — helping them serve the highest quality coffee through consultancy, education, barista training and equipment support.

The ideal team member should be:

• Friendly, approachable and passionate about hospitality and customer service.
• Experienced in a busy café, restaurant or hospitality environment, although we’re happy to consider someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
• A hands-on team player who enjoys working as part of a busy team.
• Confident communicating with customers and able to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
• Motivated and able to use their own initiative without always needing to be told what needs doing.
• Willing to be flexible and get stuck in wherever needed — whether that’s serving customers, running food, clearing tables, supporting the bar or helping with cleaning.
• Able to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods.
• Someone who takes pride in their work and has a strong eye for detail.
• Able to work well both independently and as part of a small team.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards.

As a Front of House Team Member, you will be responsible for:

• Providing a warm, friendly and welcoming experience for every customer.
• Taking customer orders and confidently explaining our food, drinks and speciality coffee offering.
• Running food and drinks to tables efficiently and accurately.
• Keeping tables clean, tidy and presented to a high standard throughout service.
• Ensuring the café floor and customer areas are always clean, organised and welcoming.
• Supporting the coffee bar and kitchen teams during busy periods.
• Helping to maintain a smooth and efficient service from opening through to closing.
• Handling customer questions and requests confidently and professionally.
• Dealing with any customer concerns in a calm and positive manner, escalating when necessary.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the café.
• Completing opening and closing tasks and checklists to the required standard.
• Supporting with cleaning and end-of-day close-down duties.
• Learning about our coffee, food and products so you can confidently talk to customers about what we offer.
• Working as part of the wider team to ensure service standards remain consistently high.
• Taking responsibility for your own section and proactively identifying what needs doing during service.
• Helping create the friendly, relaxed and premium atmosphere that we want customers to associate with Fire & Flow.
