Solicitor Apprentice - Court of Protection Department

First Year Government Apprenticeship Rate £15,600, per annum. Second year onward National Minium Wage £24,784.50 per annum.

The candidate will be assisting Fee Earners with the objective of completing the Solicitor Apprenticeship, qualifying as a Solicitor in 72 months (subject to passing relevant stages of apprenticeship with the provider).

No previous experience is required, but we are looking for people with an interest and commitment to specialise in the Court of Protection area of law, which is quite a wide and challenging area, and where you will be dealing with a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters to include providing legal and administrative support to deal with deputyship applications, general management of mentally incapacitated clients' property and financial affairs, statutory wills, professional deputyships, purchase and adaptation of properties, and financial abuse. The role will be office based at our offices in Bedford and will involve travel to care homes and other client meetings.

We recruit solicitor Apprentices with a view to becoming Solicitors (and completing a period of Qualifying Work Experience) within 4 to 6 years, and dependent on performance.

Candidates should ideally have:-

5 GCSEs level 9- 4 including Maths and English 3 A-levels or equivalent to 120 UCAS points (BBB) Ability to adhere to and manage deadlines

Assist colleagues and support supervisors in fee earning matters

Follow compliance guidelines with regards to Solicitors Accounts Rules and cash flow control on case files.

Strong IT skills

Good drafting and written skills, excellent communication and technical ability
