This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled professional who takes pride in safe, precise, and efficient lifting operations. The successful candidate will work on a variety of demanding projects, utilising state-of-the-art equipment renowned for its technology, reliability, and performance.

As we look ahead to a period of significant growth over the next couple of years, we are expanding our operations and fleet. This presents an exciting opportunity for ambitious individuals to contribute to our continued success and to develop their careers within a forward-thinking and rapidly progressing organisation. We are committed to attracting the very best individuals—those who are flexible, hardworking, and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and competently operate modern mobile telescopic cranes, predominantly the latest Liebherr models, to lift, move, and position heavy loads in accordance with approved lift plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Conduct thorough daily pre-use inspections, routine maintenance checks, and fault reporting to ensure equipment remains in optimal condition and fully compliant with LOLER regulations.
  • Set up, configure, and dismantle cranes on-site, including the correct deployment of outriggers, counterweights, and boom configurations in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with appointed persons, lift supervisors, slingers/signallers, and site teams to plan and execute lifting operations safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor crane stability, load weights, ground conditions, and environmental factors, taking proactive action to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents or near-misses.
  • Demonstrate full flexibility regarding working hours, shift patterns, project locations, and overnight stays as required by operational demands.
  • Uphold a strong safety culture at all times and contribute to continuous improvement in lifting practices and procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid CPCS card for Mobile Crane Operator (Category A60 or equivalent, covering all duties).
  • Proven, recent experience operating mobile cranes to a high standard, with preference given to candidates who have worked with Liebherr or comparable advanced equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of current UK lifting legislation, including LOLER, PUWER, and BS 7121 Code of Practice.
  • Strong understanding of lift planning, rigging principles, and safe systems of work.
  • Full UK driving licence with the appropriate categories to operate and transport crane equipment to site.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including tasks at height where necessary.
  • A demonstrable commitment to safety, reliability, and professional conduct.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • CPCS A62 Crane Lifting Operations Supervisor qualification (or equivalent experience acting in a lift supervisory capacity).
  • NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Plant Operations – Mobile Crane or in Controlling Lifting Operations.
  • Previous experience within crane hire, construction, heavy-lift, or industrial sectors.
  • Manufacturer-specific training or familiarisation on Liebherr mobile cranes.
  • Current First Aid at Work certificate.
  • CSCS card (Gold or higher preferred).

Person Specification

We are looking for the highest-calibre candidates who embody flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to excellence. The ideal individual will be reliable, detail-oriented, adaptable to changing project requirements, and proactive in identifying and addressing safety or operational issues. A positive attitude, willingness to support colleagues, and pride in delivering work to the highest standard are essential.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Clear and rewarding working hours structure:

– Basic rate for the first eight hours per day.

– Time and a half for all hours worked beyond eight per day.

– Double time for all hours worked beyond twelve per day.

  • All reasonable travel expenses fully covered.
  • The opportunity to operate the newest and most advanced mobile cranes available, with a primary focus on Liebherr equipment.
  • Ongoing training, development, and potential progression opportunities as the company continues its significant growth trajectory.
  • The chance to be part of an expanding organisation with long-term career prospects in a dynamic and forward-looking environment.
