Full job description

We are expanding our work within the high street quick-service restaurant, drive-thru and wider brand-led retail sectors.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing projects from design intent through to construction and fit-out drawings, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and coordinating with consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities. You will also assist with planning applications, Principal Designer duties and all other stages required to deliver projects successfully to site.

The role involves direct communication with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders, requiring strong organisational and communication skills. We are a small but ambitious practice, delivering projects that far outweigh our size, so the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously is essential.

Requirements:

  • Experience delivering commercial fit-out projects, such as cafés, restaurants, retail units or office interiors.
  • Experience producing technical drawing packages, including general arrangement drawings, FF&E layouts, reflected ceiling plans, sections, elevations and visualisations.
  • Good understanding of Building Regulations and construction detailing.
  • Excellent spoken and written English with strong communication and collaborative skills.
  • Must be based in the UK and able to work full-time from our Chatham office.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience working with franchised brands, multi-site operators or rollout programmes.
  • ArchiCAD and/or Vectorworks experience.
  • Experience with planning applications and consultant coordination.
  • Residential project experience, including house extensions, conversions or new-build housing.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing practice and work on a diverse range of projects within the hospitality, retail and residential sectors, with significant responsibility and client exposure from an early stage.
