Creative Lead – Design, Brand & Marketing

Full Time (Part Time Considered)
Reporting to: Studio Manager
Location: Leeds

Join FDP and help shape the future of our creative team.

FDP is a brand-led creative agency based in Leeds, delivering design, print, digital and marketing solutions to a diverse portfolio of long-standing clients across multiple industries.

We're looking for more than a designer.

We're looking for someone who combines exceptional creative ability with commercial thinking and marketing insight—someone who wants to help shape the future of our creative department rather than simply execute design briefs.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, influencing creative direction and helping develop both brands and people. Whether you're an experienced Senior Designer, a freelancer looking for a bigger platform, or someone who's been running your own creative business, we'd love to hear from you.

For the right person, this role has genuine scope to evolve into a senior creative leadership position as FDP continues to grow.

The Role

As Creative Lead, you'll work across both client projects and FDP's own brands, producing high-quality creative work while helping shape our marketing and creative direction.

Working closely with our Studio Team, Digital Team and wider business, you'll develop ideas, deliver outstanding design and help build an even stronger creative department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing catalogues, brochures, advertising campaigns and marketing collateral.
  • Creating engaging digital content for websites, email campaigns and social media.
  • Developing creative concepts from initial brief through to final production.
  • Managing multiple design projects while maintaining exceptional quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Producing artwork using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop).
  • Working with colleagues and clients to understand objectives and deliver creative solutions.
  • Proofreading and quality checking artwork before production.
  • Contributing ideas during creative planning and campaign development.
  • Helping maintain and evolve brand consistency across multiple businesses.
  • Supporting the development of our creative team by mentoring junior designers and helping establish creative best practice across the studio.

Marketing & Brand Development

Alongside creative design, you'll play an important role in developing FDP's marketing activity and supporting the growth of our business while strengthening our brand.

This includes:

  • Developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
  • Creating content for social media, email marketing and direct mail.
  • Refreshing existing marketing materials and brand assets.
  • Identifying new opportunities to strengthen our online presence.
  • Supporting brand strategy and creative direction across the business.

Who We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong commercial graphic design experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop).
  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional print and digital design.
  • Experience producing catalogues, brochures, marketing literature and social media content.
  • Excellent typography, layout and branding skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Great attention to detail and pride in producing exceptional work.

Experience with photography, video, motion graphics, web design or digital marketing would be advantageous but isn't essential.

A Different Kind of Opportunity

If you've built your own freelance business or small creative studio, you'll know that producing great work is only part of the challenge.

Winning new clients, managing projects, quoting, invoicing and running a business often leaves little time to focus on the creative work that inspired you in the first place.

This role offers the opportunity to bring that entrepreneurial mindset into an established and growing agency with the infrastructure, client base and support to help you thrive.

You'll have the freedom to influence creative direction, develop brands and help build a talented creative team—without carrying the weight of running every aspect of a business yourself.

Equally, if you're already leading creative projects within another organisation but are looking for greater autonomy and the opportunity to shape the future of an ambitious agency, we'd love to hear from you.

For the right person, we're open to tailoring the remuneration package and tupe existing staff if required. Build a package around your experience, ambitions and the value you can bring to FDP.

Why Join FDP?

  • Genuine opportunity to influence the creative direction of the agency.
  • The chance to help develop and grow our creative team.
  • Work across a diverse range of established brands and industries.
  • Long-standing client relationships with exciting and varied projects.
  • A collaborative, supportive and ambitious working environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and progression opportunities.
  • A tailored remuneration package for the right candidate.
  • Full-time or part-time considered.

How to Apply

Please send us:

  • Your CV.
  • A short covering letter telling us why this opportunity interests you.
  • A link to your portfolio or examples of your work.

We're interested in seeing not only what you've created, but how you think.

If you're ready to take ownership, lead creatively and help shape the future of FDP, we'd love to hear from you.
